Video production / San Jose

FAQ.

What people usually ask before booking. Anything not here, bring it to the discovery call.

01Getting started

Before production
What happens on the discovery call?

Thirty minutes over Zoom on what you post, where, and how often. By the end you know whether single shoots or a retainer fits, and what it costs.

Is the call required?

Yes. It comes with any booking and happens before any production, so the shoot is planned around your goals instead of guessed.

What kind of work do you do?

Short form video for small businesses, personal brands and musicians, plus brand films when a project needs more room. A small crew that moves quickly, so shoots fit around your business instead of taking it over. Drone, photo and lighting are available when a project calls for them, and we plan that on the call.

02Pricing

Rate card
How is everything priced?

Two rates: $200 an hour to shoot and $200 a finished piece. Every package on the rate card is built off those two.

What counts as a finished piece?

One social cut under 60 seconds, cut for the platforms you post on, with two rounds of revisions.

What about longer videos?

Anything over 60 seconds is a brand film. It is quoted once we define the scope and the shot list.

When is payment due without a retainer?

At booking.

Will my rates change?

Rates are held through the initial term of your Service Agreement.

03Retainers

Every two weeks
How does a retainer work?

You pick a tier based on how often you want to post. Each tier includes a set amount of shoot time and finished pieces every two weeks, with editing and graded footage included.

How is it billed?

Every two weeks.

Why is the discount the same on every tier?

Every tier is the rate card minus about 30 percent. Keeping it flat means you never pay more by committing to more.

When do we shoot?

On a standing schedule. The retainer holds your slot on the calendar, so there is no chasing dates.

04Deliverables

Files and extras
Do I get my raw footage?

On a retainer, graded footage is included and kept in an organized library. Without a retainer, original camera files are $1 per GB, delivered on a drive you keep.

Can you make music for my videos?

Yes. An original track written to a style and genre you choose is $100 per song, with no revisions. You can reuse it across your pieces.

Do you charge for travel?

Shoots within 60 miles of San Jose are included. Beyond 60 miles it is $150 per trip, and shoots beyond 120 miles are scoped in advance.
